Blood Work Consultation Q & A

What is a blood work consultation?

A blood work consultation is an important part of determining the proper course of action when it comes to treating any issues you may be having. The consultation is minimally invasive, using only a syringe to draw blood, and is a part blood test, part physical exam, and part conversation with Dr. Hahn about your concerns and the options you want to explore.

Basing a series of replacement therapies on the answers to a questionnaire alone can lead to misdiagnosis or unnecessary treatments. That’s why Dr. Hahn relies on blood work to obtain the most accurate results for his review before he diagnoses an issue and prescribes a treatment.

Reno Men’s Health depends on the precision and the factual numbers that come with a blood test, and Dr. Hahn believes you deserve the right solution to you your issues.

What is the blood work consultation process?

The consultation only takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. You’ll begin by answering some questions about the symptoms that are causing you concern. Examples include:

  • Do you lack energy?
  • Do you have a decreased sex drive?
  • Do you have erectile problems?
  • Has your mood taken a downturn?
  • Do you find it hard to concentrate?
  • Have you put on extra weight?

Then you’ll be given a physical examination, followed by a blood draw to determine your T-score and other vital numbers. The results of the blood test typically take about 24 hours, after which you’ll speak with Dr. Hahn about your results and which treatment therapy is best for you.

Why is a blood work consultation important?

Having blood work done during your consultation helps Dr. Hahn remove the guesswork or errors from your diagnosis. Using the scientific testing results of blood work returns hard data that are used to give you the best possible treatment. In some cases, your symptoms may be shown to be part of a completely different issue that testosterone replacement therapy won’t help.

Blood work consultations are an important part of a responsible diagnosis. If you want to know for sure if testosterone replacement therapy is for you, call to book an appointment for your  blood work consultation.
